Open Question: How to stay aware in poker?
ok so I’m only 17, so I can’t put money on my poker account, so I enter freerolls. I feel like I have had a breakthrough in my playing, as the tournaments have 7500 people, and you have to get into the top 90 to get money, which ive done. Except as soon as I get into the top 90 I went all in and lost it all! the last two times ive played! There were about 110 people left in the first one, I got into 70th or so place and then I went all in and lost everything…. I went from about 107 to 70, and the first hand I got I went all in and lost…. Now today, I was at about 200 out of the 2200 or so left, and I won a big hand, got into 82nd, then went all in and lost it! idk but I just feel more comfortable with a small stack… people always tell me to bully people around when I have the big stack and I just dont feel comfortable doing that, mainly because bad $h!t tends to happen lol (see above) Also, I think it may be because I forget all of what hands you can get? you know, like I’ll get two pair and all of a sudden I forget all about 3 of a kind because my adrenaline is pumping and what not then I go all in and BAM… I lose it all… SKIP TO THE QUESTION: Basically how do I finish? Any help playing with a big stack? Usually I make these fatal mistakes about 3-4 hours into the tourny, tips for staying focused?

Open Question: What should/can I do about my gambling?
Hey everyone, I know this isn’t the number one place to look for help, but I don’t want to ask any of my friends or family. I’ve gambled a lot of money. I have deposited and lost thousands of dollars. This weekend on friday, I deposited 25 dollars, won a tournament on poker for $1500 USD, played at a cash table and got it up to 3.5 thousand dollars. In just a couple days I have lost that. I know I need to stop gambling… but I feel like I have no other choice but to do it. I’m 21 years old, and my family has been going broke, which is the whole reason as to why I started gambling. I slowed down schooling at college just to take more hours at my job and try to make money for food, clothing, etc. for myself. All of my bills or things I need to help to pay for I couldn’t begin to afford without either quitting school, which I definitely will NEVER do, or win cash somehow. I started to sacrifice food money for poker about 7 months ago, making me much skinnier now. I’m in debt cause of my bills a couple thousand dollars, and I need money to help my mom out as well. I know that I shouldn’t gamble, and I honestly absolutely do not want to, but I don’t know how else to make it out of this debt without it. I don’t know how to make the money, even if I worked full time and quit schooling, how I can possibly support my mother and I. I hate my situation, I want so badly more than anything in this world right now to be debt free, somehow make that 2k to get out of this hole, and find a higher paying job hopefully or something… even though that’s extremely tough right now in this economy. I have no idea what to do, I’ve won plenty in poker in the past, I just have an extremely hard time bankroll managing my winnings, which ultimately makes me lose everything I earned. I need money to get out of debt, how can I do it without gambling even more? Please any help on this matter would be life changing in some way or another, thank you so much for hearing me out.
